Fanboys takes you back to the time before the
Star Wars Prequels were released upon the world. It was a period of Star Wars drought.
During college, I recall the excitement and anticipation before The Phantom Menace was released. It was an amazing time for nerds everywhere.
And that takes us back to this film. While there are really sweet moments and the acting fine, I feel that there was something missing. But hey, there's a story arc with some character growth.
Reading the history behind the release of this film, it's not hard to feel sorry for the director and the actors. The film was butchered and then the director had just hours to put it back together again.
Honestly, I was entertained by the movie and did shed a tear or two for one of the characters. I can't say I loved the film, but I did like it. Geeks will enjoy the cameos from genre actors including Carrie Fisher.
