National Novel Writing Month 2008 - Start!

It's the first day!

Um, I'm sick, but I'm going to do my best. *laugh* My brain may not be super fast today and this laptop is at times fritzy, but I can type 3000 words a day. I can!

Um, and these don't count.

Ok, I should get back to it. And turn off the internet.

Obama Wins, Gives An Awesome Speech

I wonder if the rest of the world is as excited as I feel like more than half of America is tonight. I think Obama's victory speech struck just the right tones.

The outcome of Prop 8 is still in question tonight, but it seems as if the Yes people are winning. Personally, I don't think that anyone has the right to take away another person's right to marriage.

At Mass last week, the priest spoke about both 8 and 4 and how the Diocese asked the congregation to vote yes on both of them. Personally, I'm of the mind that Jesus wants us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. I expect to get married one day and if a same-sex couple wants to get married, I think they should be allowed to do so.

Well, tomorrow will definiately be the start of a change in the US. And I feel like the potential of it is just so brilliant.

I Fail @ NaNoWriMo

I think I first got behind because on my cold. Then my projects at work put me off from sitting at my computer. Now, I'm thousands of words behind.

I'll try to write tomorrow, but I really am disappointed with my story so far and want to start again. Maybe that would be better.

PlayStation 3 Death?

Right now, I'm a little upset.

Well, maybe more in shock.

While watching Hellboy 2, my PlayStation 3 suddenly froze up. And then... wouldn't load any disc again!

My parents and brother gave me the PS3 for Christmas last year and for the past year, I've been utterly happy playing high definition discs and the occasional game on it. In fact, I got a Netflix account since I wanted to watch more DVDs and Blu-ray movies.

I usually use the system for movies because, I have to admit, the PS3 doesn't really have that many games that intereste me. I'm more of an RPG kind of girl. Luckily, Disgaea 3 came out and I've been happily working my way through that and Lego Star Wars.

Anyway, my PS3 loading thingy died and it can't play games, dvds, or bluray discs. So it's like a box right now. A box that has some music, games, and videos that I've loaded into it, but no way to play any new stuff. A box that sits there, looking heavy and sullen. And making me sad.

PS3 Troubles Contine with WD Passport Issues

GAHHH!

Apparently I have some weird thing wrong with my ps3. Some tiny piece of data is not letting me back up the bastard.

I thought it was my Passport freaking out. I reformatted it several times only to realize the PS3 was playing with my mind.

I have to confess, I have some music files as well as some videos. I thought perhaps one of them was causing the trouble.

I deleted them all and I still had a error that said 8001002A. My PS3 mocked me by repeating that, once again, it could not back up. I also got a 8003051E error when I tried to back up the video files. I then realized, I've already watched them and have the DVDs so I didn't really need the files. Of course it's so convenient to just play it from the PS3....

Anyway, I backed up my game files. My brother downloaded some copies of games on my ps3, but I didn't really play them. I mean, what really matters to me is my Disgaea 3, Star Wars Legos, and Folklore.

So, I'm restoring my PS3 HD so I can back it up in case they do something to it.

My fabulous journey continues. I just want to watch Wall-e on Blu-ray. *weeps*

Pains About Pushing Daisies Premature Departure

Posted in

What the hell?

Seriously, Pushing Daisies is one of the most fabulous, beautiful, quirky, and interesting series that has been on TV in a long time.

I can't express how sad this makes me. Pushing Daisies is like a lovely break from the dark and dreary reality of other TV (and of real reality!). The candy pallet, the beautiful costuming, and the fabulous characters really gave me a lift.

I mean, I do like Fringe and Eleventh Hour, but Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies are such a lovely contrast to those types of show.

Oh, Pie Maker... I'll have to eat a pie this coming week just to honor you.

UPDATE:

If you care about Pushing Daisies, please write to ABC and let them know.

Please please please write in.
