Bebop Pop: Musical Influence?
I was watching TLC last night and caught the show “I’ve Got Nothing to Wear.” It uses design students who have 3 days to remake 2 outfits each for a person who has something big coming up.
It was interesting. I wonder if my younger cousin (who is attending the LA branch of that design college) would want to do that kind of show. It seems like a lot of pressure.
What really caught my attention was the open song. It sounded very much like Yoko Kanno’s TANK! from Cowboy Bebop. Whole phrases seemed to come from the song. Then again, Yoko Kanno was probably influenced by some jazz song or something, too. Right? Hmmm…
Anyway, I can’t record off my TV, but maybe someone else noticed this?
