Wii! (A Tale of Waiting in Line in the Cold)

My brother text messaged me on Saturday night – wii’s confirmed at best buy. get there early.

I thought about ignoring him. I mean, really… did I need another game system.

Then I remembered. The Wii kicks butt. And I really don’t need a digital camera that much.

Anyway, I woke up at 6am, headed over to the Best Buy (even though I thought about boycotting because of the internal web thing, but that was tossed aside for the wii).

There were 5 people in line a head of me.

Since the circular said that there would be like 12 units per store, at least, I sat down and started reading a book.

Best Buy opens at 10am… It was a long, chilly wait.

It turns out that my store had 39 units. I could have arrived at 9am and still got a wii. Some people may have been intimidated by the line, but most people waiting were families, so there were actually only 10 people, though it looked like 24. So…. long story short, everyone got a wii who waited in line before 9 am.

Hardcore winner of the week was the guy in the beanie who had been there since midnight. The first 4 people came before 5am…

It was probably an experience for them. My having to get up at 6am was just enough of one for me.

I got Wii Play, too. My brother, dad, and I played 9 ball and fishing. After playing 2 rounds of bowling, my dad is worried his arms will be sore. My brother let me borrow Zelda, but I really want to play something cute. I think I should have gotten Bubble Bobble….

For now, I can race around on cows. Moooooo!
