Yaoi-Con 2006: Taco Roco

We drove up to San Francisco on Thursday for Yaoi Con, we stopped for lunch. Luckily, we ended up in a great resturant in Santa Maria.

We took special note of the name so we could look it up and see if there were any near LA. Taco Roco was soooo yummy. The fresh Mexican food was lovely.

Even though I was really, really full of sopes made with delicious shredded chicken, I had to get a churro at the end. Oh, it was fabulous. Fresh, crunchy, and soft in the center. Pefect.

Yaoi-Con 2006: Elephant Bar – Conflicting Themes

While at Yaoi Con, I had dinner at the Elephant Bar. It was a nice, quiet dinner…that we had to wait almost 45 minutes to get seated for dinner.

For the most part, I would never wait that long. I was actually told 20 minutes. 20 minutes, that is no problem. Almost an hour!?! I’d rather go to a different resturant.

Especially when the food doesn’t really have a specific theme. When I think of elephants, I think if Africa or Asia. Hm, no African food on the menu. But strangely, the decor is African safari theme. Hm… And there is lots of Asian food on the menu, but also stuff like cheesesteak and gumbo.

Anyway, the best part was dessert. Chocolate chocolate (that’s double!) lava cake with ice cream. The cake was as big as my doll-like fist. Hm, chocolate.

Almost Pneumonia

I went to visit the doctor’s yesterday after a particularly bad bout of coughing. You see, I have dust & pollen allergies.

Anyways, after a double dose of allergy medicine that didn’t help, I went to visit my doctor. After saying I still look like I’m in my early 20′s although I’m almost 30, he told me I should get a physical. Then said I needed to get a chest x-ray.

Apparently, chronic coughing is not so good.

Turns out, I had some stuff in my lungs. He said, “It’s almost pneumonia.” I squinted at the x-ray as he pointed out the feathery white lines in the area of my lungs.

Fabulous.

So I went back to the office, did a shot of ZMax (which has a wicked aftertaste, btw), and some allergy meds. O

But hey, on the plus side, apparently I can still pass for my early 20′s. I guess that magical potion to keep me young is really working.

Anyway, I hope the almost pneumonia is going to be almost over.
